Instruction for Use #

MySQL MGR Cluster #

Environmental Requirements #

Supported MySQL versions: 5.7.17~8. x.

Authority Requirements #

  1. Set report_host and report_port.

MySQL 5.7 my.cnf example configuration:

[mysqld]
report_host = mysql_1
report_port = 3306

Execute the following command to confirm whether the settings are correct:

SELECT * FROM performance_schema.replication_group_members;

As shown below, it means report_host and report_port set successfully.

+---------------------------+--------------------------------------+-------------+-------------+--------------+
| CHANNEL_NAME              | MEMBER_ID                            | MEMBER_HOST | MEMBER_PORT | MEMBER_STATE |
+---------------------------+--------------------------------------+-------------+-------------+--------------+
| group_replication_applier | 7d5a5217-6ba1-11ed-9327-0242ac1e0003 | mysql_1     |        3306 | ONLINE       |
| group_replication_applier | 84074902-6ba1-11ed-9309-0242ac1e0004 | mysql_2     |        3306 | ONLINE       |
| group_replication_applier | 8b391fb9-6ba1-11ed-9254-0242ac1e0005 | mysql_3     |        3306 | ONLINE       |
+---------------------------+--------------------------------------+-------------+-------------+--------------+
  1. Grant MySQL account authority to query system database.

Minimize authority using database discovery:

grant SELECT ON performance_schema.* to ${username}@${host};

Execute the following command to check whether the user has the query system permission:

SHOW GRANTS FOR ${username}@${host};

Example results:

+----------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Grants for ${username}@${host}                                       |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------+
| GRANT SELECT ON `performance_schema`.* TO ${username}@${host}        |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------+

MySQL Principal and Subordinate Cluster #

Environmental Requirements #

Supported MySQL versions: 5. x~8. x.

Authority Requirements #

  1. Set report_host.

MySQL 5.7 my.cnf example configuration:

[mysqld]
report_host = mysql_1

Execute the following command to confirm whether the settings are correct:

SHOW SLAVE STATUS \G;

The following shows that the ‘report_host’ setting is successful:

mysql> SHOW SLAVE STATUS\G

  1. Give MySQL account permission related to Replication.

Minimize permissions using database discovery:

grant REPLICATION SLAVE, REPLICATION CLIENT ON *.* TO ${username}@${host};

Execute the following command to check whether the user has the query system permission:

SHOW GRANTS FOR ${username}@${host};

Example results:
